Dale Moss is opening up about his recent split with Clare Crawley.
As a refresher, Dale and Clare met on season 16 of The Bachelorette – and their whirlwind romance stirred up a quite a bit of drama, with Clare breaking up with all the other guys and ending her Bachelorette journey on the show early. Tayshia Adams later stepped in as Bachelorette for the rest of the season.
The couple even took their relationship to the next level – the episode of their engagement aired just two months ago.
The two appeared all loved up on social media, and were even reportedly house hunting for their new home together in November. But, earlier this week, news broke that the couple had called it quits – and Dale was reportedly the one who broke it off.
Hours after their breakup hit the headlines, Dale confirmed the split on Instagram.
So, what happened?
According to E! News, a journalist was able to speak with Dale about the breakup.
“Obviously, it’s not the greatest situation,” he responded when asked how he was feeling, “but, you know, Clare and I have a lot of love for each other and, you know, this is the healthiest thing for us right now.”
On why they decided to go their separate ways, Dale said: “Honestly, we’ve just got a lot going on in our lives right now. This is just the healthiest thing for both of us.”
But he’s optimistic that he and Clare can be friendly exes, telling the journalist, “Clare and I will be cool.”
Clare hasn’t publicly addressed the breakup, but another source previously shared with the outlet on how she’s dealing: “She’s trying to focus on herself right now but is completely devastated.”
