David Beckham turned 50 in serious style—but not everyone in the family showed up to raise a glass.
While the football legend’s milestone birthday was filled with A-list guests, a custom menu, and performances by his kids, his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz were notably absent. The couple’s decision to skip the celebration, despite reportedly being in London at the time, has only fueled ongoing rumors of a family rift.
Photos shared by Victoria Beckham on Instagram on May 4 offered a behind-the-scenes look at the festivities, featuring 20-year-old Cruz, 22-year-old Romeo, and 13-year-old Harper all joining in the fun. But Brooklyn and Nicola were missing from the lineup.
According to a May 4 report from TMZ, Brooklyn and Nicola did travel to London to see David, but requested a private meeting with him instead of attending the party. The reason? They allegedly wanted to avoid Romeo and his girlfriend, model Kim Turnbull. Sources claimed the pair were told it was the birthday party or nothing—no solo meetup was offered.
Tension between Brooklyn and Romeo may be partially to blame. An earlier TMZ article from April 3 suggested the brothers aren’t on speaking terms, supposedly because of Kim Turnbull—whom Brooklyn reportedly dated “several years ago.” That said, there’s been no solid confirmation they were ever romantically involved. In fact, younger brother Cruz attempted to shut down the speculation, commenting on Romeo’s Instagram, “Brooklyn and Kim never dated,” according to Hello! magazine.
This isn’t the first time there’s been buzz about bad blood within the Beckham-Peltz circle. Feud rumors have swirled since Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding, when Nicola opted to wear Valentino instead of a Victoria Beckham–designed gown. Nicola addressed the chatter last year in an interview with Cosmopolitan, insisting things were fine:
“I’ve said this so many times: There’s no feud. I don’t know. No one ever wants to write the nice things. It’s really weird, actually, whether it’s my life or someone else’s life or whatever, when you know the truth and then you read something totally wrong.”
Nicola, for her part, had bigger drama to deal with after the wedding—her billionaire father, Nelson Peltz, famously sued one of her wedding planners, demanding a refund of the deposit.
