The 29-year-old actor has been cast as Superman for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Legacy. The movie is set for release in 2025.
Rachel Brosnahan has been cast alongside David as Lois Lane.
For weeks, casting rumors have been heating up with three frontrunners rumored to be in the running for Superman and three for Lois.
David, who was recently seen in Netflix’s Hollywood, will be taking over the previous iteration of the coveted role from Henry Cavill. Rachel, who starred in The marvelous Mrs. Maisel, will take over the role most recently inhabited by Amy Adams.
