Demi Lovato’s rocking a new ‘do, and fans are loving it.
The 28-year-old performer may have been trying some bold new looks at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards on Sunday (November 15) – she rocked the PCA red carpet with long dark tresses, but hosted the show as a blonde.
However, it appears she’s taken the plunge – her naturally dark locks are now blonde. She also shaved the back part of her head.
The “I Love Me” singer debuted the fierce new look on Instagram, writing, “I did a thing…”
Fans and her famous pals quickly went on the comments section of the post to shower her with a lot of love.
“Yes you did!!!” Ruby Rose commented.
“LOVING THIS NEW ERA ALREADY,” photographer Angelo Kritikos added.
During her opening monologue as host for the 2020 PCAs, Demi joked about getting “unengaged” – Demi and ex-fiancé Max Ehrich started dating in March, and, after a whirlwind romance, announced their engagement in July. However, just two months later, she called off her engagement.
“I am so excited to be here tonight because honestly this year has been the longest three years of my life,” Demi said. “Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the GRAMMYs and sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl. But then, COVID hit, and everything shut down.”
“So I did what everyone else did, I went into lockdown mode, and got engaged,” she continued. “I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of post mates unlimited. Also, I didn’t know this could happen, but reached the end of Instagram four times. I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got unengaged, then went looking for aliens in the desert.”
“So basically the same as everyone else,” she added with a laugh.
