Demi Lovato has been on a journey towards self-love and acceptance, which ended up having an unintended effect on her.

Sharing a mirror selfie video of her wearing a crop top and sweatpants captioned, “I’m full of peace, serenity, joy, and love today 💖,” the “What Other People Say” singer’s recent Instagram post revealed that she “accidentally” lost weight.

“Accidentally lost weight. I don’t count calories anymore. I don’t exercise anymore. I don’t restrict or purge…,” Demi shared with fans on Monday (March 1). “And I especially…don’t live my life accordingly to the diet culture. And I’ve actually lost weight. ”

The 28-year-old singer has been open with fans about her struggles with weight loss – including her battle with bulimia and how she’d felt overwhelmed by societal pressures to be thin and control her body.

However, Demi seems to be doing much better these days, and also opened up how her ongoing journey is much different from her past experiences.

“This is a different experience but I feel full,” she added. “Not of food but of divine wisdom and cosmic guidance. Peace.”

But that’s not the only recent change that Demi has undergone recently.

ICYMI, Demi has chopped off her long locks – in an effort to love herself more.

Opening up about her decision to shave off most of her hair, she told host Ellen DeGeneres how she felt like she “used to hide behind [her] hair.”

“I used to use my hair to hide behind,” she said in her recent appearance on Ellen. “It would cover my body. So when I started doing all this work on myself, I thought, ‘What is something that I’ve been holding onto my whole life that I need to let go of?’ And it was that. I feel more myself now.”

Sporting her new, much-shorter ‘do – which also featured pink tresses during the interview – she shares, “I feel so free. I feel more authentic to who I am.”

Keep it up, Demi!
