Looks like Chris Hemsworth is conceding the honor of being the fitter Hemsworth to his younger brother Liam.
Chris, who’s played the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thor, has impressed fans with his ripped physique time and time again, but he may have some competition from Liam.
In a recent interview with News.com.au to promote his upcoming Netflix movie Extraction, their conversation touched on Liam looking uber buff as of late.
“I think he’s done it,” Chris said. “Did you see the Men’s Health cover? I thought, ‘Not bad kid. Not bad’.
“He’s out there training and staying fit, and back in Australia doing his thing,” he continued. “It’s Australian living, I guess.”
“We got him out of Malibu!” he added. The interviewer notes that he said it with a grin and the line got laughs from Extraction director Sam Hargraves who also on the interview.
Some fans think his last line was a reference to Liam’s ex-wife, Miley Cyrus, whom he famously lived with in Malibu, California before they tied the knot. She even wrote a love song about it – 2017’s “Malibu.” Liam’s home was destroyed in the 2018 California wildfires. They got married later that year, but split after only eight months since saying “I do.”
They announced their split shortly after Miley was spotted engaging in PDA with Kaitlynn Carter during an Italian vacation. The two went on to date for about a month before going their separate ways.
Miley has since moved on and is currently dating Cody Simpson. Liam has also been romantically linked to model Gabriella Brookes.
On Thursday (April 18), Kaitlynn opened up about how her life changed after her splitting from Miley.
Talking to her pal and The Hills: New Beginnings co-star Whitney Port on Instagram Live, she shared that she did not expect all the media attention that she got after the breakup.
“What happened to me, basically just after Miley and I went our separate ways, I thought, OK, my life’s just kinda going back to the way it normally was for me when I’m on my own,” Kaitlynn explained. “I had no expectations that anyone would give a s–t about me by myself. I had no plan in place. I didn’t think about anything. For example, I was dealing with a lot emotionally at that time, obviously, and I really wasn’t going out anywhere. I was just staying home.”
On a friend’s suggestion, she visited another friend’s bar and was shocked to find paparazzi had followed her.
“I just didn’t anticipate anything like this happening,” she said. “I’m used to it when I’m, like, with Brody or when I was with her, but never when I’m on my own. My mind is just swirling.”
But when headlines about how she was “out on the town, partying with a mystery man just two weeks after her breakup” began circulating, “I was just so mortified…The narrative was so not what the actual situation was and that was such a wake up call for me,” she said.
She said she never use to think about “what my narrative even was or what it was going to be.”
“I had always gone with the flow or whatever people say they say, I don’t care,” she shared, adding, “In relationships especially, I have always taken a back seat a little bit and sort of trusted the person I’m with to run the show, especially publicly because it’s never really been something that I wanted. I never really wanted to put myself out there that way.”
Prior to dating with Miley, Kaitlynn was in a relationship with Brody Jenner. They announced their split a week before she and Miley were photographed on their Italian vacay.
Admitting she had been “naïve,” she said the media scrutiny pushed her to start taking control of her narrative change the perception of her online.
“Social media is so different because this is a community, on my Instagram, this is the community that I have been communicating with and sharing things with for years now,” she continued. “And I built this community over a long time.”
“When I’m sharing things on there it feels familiar. It feels like a safe place,” she said. “But the bigger picture, the rest of the world, where you don’t know everyone, that’s like a whole other level and that was not really something that I ever [was prepared to deal with].”
