Don’t Worry Darling has been making waves all over social media for many, many reasons. But one moment in particular has had fans and spectators totally perplexed.
In case you missed it, Twitter went absolutely berserk on Monday (September 5) when a clip of Chris Pine and Harry Styles began to make the rounds that had fans wondering if Harry had spit on Chris’ leg during the Venice premiere of the film.
Various other video clips of the same moment taken from different angles also began to spread, leading to more confusion and speculation — even outrage from some over what has been dubbed as ‘spit gate.’
Now, Chris is speaking out about this whole mess. The respected actor released a statement via his rep, declaring:
“This is a ridiculous story – a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation.”
The rep went on the say in no uncertain terms:
“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine.
There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”
