Fans think Lili Reinhart has officially confirmed her break up with on-again-off-again beau and co-star Cole Sprouse in a recent interview.
Many believe some quotes from a recent interview alludes to what’s going on between her and Cole.
“This has been the first time in four years where I’ve been able to like stop and process the immense life changes that I’ve gone through,” she shared in her interview with Refinery29.
She also talked about moving into her new home – she’s moving forward from what felt like a “black tunnel [that] was never going to end…I couldn’t see the light. I was like, I feel like I’m dying.”
“It was f–king rough, and there’s no other way through it than just through it,” she continued. “I’ve seen a lot of people when it comes to heartache and grief and breakups, and they try to get that void filled with sex, with coke, with food, with drinking, [but] the void is still there. I took the road less traveled and just dealt with my s–t. I had to face my own pain head-on.”
“The last couple of months have probably [been] the most emotional few months of my entire life,” she later said, adding, “and my therapist [told] me, ‘Your body’s going through withdrawal from love/ ‘You’re used to having this exchange of happy chemicals between you and the person that you’re with.’ In moments of my life, I have dropped every ounce of pride that I had just to be like, Love me. Please take the pain away for a day, a second, an hour, just so I can feel that fix again.”
She also talked about her upcoming collection of poems, Swimming Lessons, which is slated to be released next month.
“I felt the need to write that because I was scared — and I am scared — that people are going to try and create their own idea of what my love life looked or looks like,” she revealed. “I’m not saying, My boyfriend f–ked another woman. I’m saying, I felt betrayed.”
While many were led to believe she was talking about her split from Cole, turns out, she actually wasn’t – she was opening up about her depression over the last few months. Lili went on Twitter on Tuesday (August 18) to set the record straight.
“Quotes taken from my most recent interview are not about a ‘breakup.’ They are about the depression I’ve felt over these last few months. Tired of people taking my words out of context and piecing together their own story for clickbait,” she wrote on Twitter.
“I would never speak so candidly about something as personal as a breakup. That’s incredibly private. I was addressing my depression,” Lili added in another tweet.
Lili has recently confirmed that Riverdale is about to resume production.
“We’re about to go back in a couple of days to start — well, I have to quarantine for two weeks — but then we’re starting our season 5,” the 23-year-old actress shared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
They’ll be picking up where they left off when production was shut down last spring.
“We had two-and-a-half episodes left, so we stopped in the middle of an episode,” she explained.
She also noted that there could be some visual changes in the last episodes of Season 4. “So when we go back, we have to finish three days of one episode that we were filming in March. So we’re all going to be significantly tanner, maybe I’ve gained weight during quarantine, so I’ll look a little different,” she said. “It’s like five months, it did make quite a difference, I feel like. It’ll be easy to tell what was in March and when we filmed in September.”
Lili’s actually pretty excited to get started on Season 5.
“Season 5 we’re actually doing, I believe, a seven-year time jump into the future so we’re not going to be teenagers anymore,” she revealed. “I’m really psyched about it. I think it’ll be nice to play an adult. But I also really appreciate that Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa], our showrunner, was like, ‘Yeah, let’s revamp.’ You know, we’re not just stuck in high school for seven seasons.”
