“Zayn Is Married” has been trending on Twitter with fans speculating that Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid may have already gotten hitched on the DL.
Zayn and Gigi recently became parents to a baby girl – they welcomed daughter Khai in September, and announced the birth of their little bundle of joy on social media. They’ve also, on occasion, opened up about life as new parents. But what they haven’t really talked about lately is if there has been any change in their relationship status.
So, how did it all start?
Singer Ingrid Michaelson held a livestream on Patreon Monday (March 29) night to talk about her recent collab with Zayn, the new song “To Begin Again.”
Ingrid started talking about how the two of them were able to work on the song despite never having met or spoken – and dropped a little tidbit that got fans totally buzzing. Here’s what she said:
“We’ve never met, I’ve never spoken to him. Zayn doesn’t do stuff he doesn’t wanna do, and the fact that he did this song is very flattering. He’s such a private person and now he’s married and has a child so, he does the things he wants to do.”
Note that Ingrid did mention that she and Zayn haven’t even talked – like, at all – so it’s possible she may have misspoken. But excited fans quickly locked onto that little bit of personal information and started speculating that Zayn and Gigi may have already gotten married.
Soon after, “Zayn Is Married” was a trending topic on Twitter.
BUT, shortly after her Patreon livestream, Ingrid went on Instagram Story to apologize to fans and clear up the confusion.
“So, I should be asleep, but it’s been a crazy hour, hour and a half,” she told fans. “On my Patreon live stream, I said that I’m working with Zayn. I mentioned that he was married, and he’s not married. As far as I know, he’s not married. It was a mistake. I’m so sorry, I said I was sorry. I don’t live in this world. So the level of fame, it makes me really, truly admire Zayn and anybody with that level of fame. Every little thing you say is just, Wow! I’m not built for it.”
“Just everybody has said really sweet things to me, and I have taken it very much to heart. And thank you. You have helped me to be able to, probably, fall asleep tonight. So that’s all,” Ingrid continued. “My apologies to Zayn and Gigi, if any of this trickles to you and is annoying. I’m sorry—that’s not my intention. And to his fans, I’m sorry for getting you all riled up, and much love to you all. And I’m gonna go to sleep now.”
Ingrid also posted this on Twitter: “I MADE A MISTAKE IM SORRY.”
