Joshua Jackson is getting real about affairs.

The 44-year-old The Affair actor is starring in the upcoming Fatal Attraction TV series on Paramount+. Both shows heavily feature infidelity.

Speaking to The Times, the Dawson’s Creek alum shared his thoughts on cheating and whether it is a forgivable offense. He said:

“I think an affair can be forgiven.

We’re all grownups. No one wants to be cheated on and there is massive repair to be done.”

Joshua focused on deeper reasons that affairs happen, reflecting:

“Affairs aren’t about the partner, they’re about the person who has transgressed.

It’s not purely about the sex. There’s a deeper violation.”

He shared that meeting Jodie Turner-Smith has changed his mind on marriage and having kids:

“Partially, it’s age. I’m old enough to be able to do this. Partially, it’s about finding somebody in the right moment of life.

If we had met five years earlier we probably would have had a torrid affair, but all the rest of this stuff, I was just not ready. I didn’t think I ever wanted to get married.”

Joshua and Jodie wed in 2019. They welcomed a baby girl in April 2020.
