Doja Cat is setting the record straight after a fan interaction went viral—and not in a way she was comfortable with.

The 29-year-old rapper was featured in a TikTok posted by a fan named Pablo Tamayo, where he took off his shirt and handed it to her after she complimented it. In the video, Doja is smiling as she accepts it, and the overlay text reads, “When Doja Cat likes your shirt, you give her your shirt.”

But a few days later, Doja took to Twitter/X to clarify how she really felt about the moment—and it wasn’t all warm and fuzzy.

“bottom line is i’ll smile at you but it doesn’t mean I fu– w you and don’t touch me and man handle me when you don’t even fu–in know me. iykyk,” she wrote in a post that was later deleted.

“i honestly think I need to stand up for myself in the moment sometimes. and he didn’t even know my fu–in name to be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy.”

She added: “I threw that musty ass shirt away btw.”

Even after the post was removed, Doja continued responding to fans. When someone asked why she accepted the shirt if she was uncomfortable, she replied, “he did [smell good] but i don’t like how comfortable he was touching me and kissing me without asking permission.”

Another fan questioned why she smiled during the encounter, and Doja explained, “i was very drunk idk what to tell you.”

In response to the backlash, Pablo released a video to share his side of the story—and his hurt.

“I just wanna clear this up because it hurts,” he said. “I love her… I just think it’s crazy because she’s the one at this event that’s being so nice. She pointed out my shirt and said, ‘I like that.’”

He claimed she asked for the shirt after learning it was part of his new Pride collection. But now, he said, “she’s on Twitter saying she ‘threw that musty shirt away,’ that I didn’t know her name, that I manhandled her. I understand, guys, if I was being too nice or whatever. I will take full accountability. I’m gay! I would never want to make her feel uncomfortable, she’s so iconic, I’ve only been saying the nicest things about her.”

Pablo added, “I would have never wanted to make her uncomfortable… I apologize if I did anything wrong at all, but guys, I’m a human being too. But maybe this just shows that not everybody’s who they say they are in person.”

Shortly after the drama, Pablo put a version of the tank top up for sale online—with “MUSTY ASS SHIRT” printed in bold all-caps.
