Drake Makes History By Being The First Artist To Do This

Drake is once again ruling the Billboard Hot 100 chart – and making history while he’s at it.

After pushing back the release of his album, Certified Lover Boy, the 34-year-old rapper dropped his song bundle Scary Hours 2 earlier this month, which features three songs – “What’s Next,” “Wants and Needs” with Lil Baby, and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” with Rick Ross.

On Monday (March 15), all three songs debuted on the Hot 100 – and they weren’t about to work their way up either. All three songs landed in the top spots on the chart, with “What’s Next” at No. 1, followed by “Wants and Needs” with Lil Baby, with “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” with Rick Ross coming in third.

This is the first time any artist has DEBUTED in the Hot 100’s top three at the same time. The only other artists who’ve had three songs in the top spots simultaneously are The Beatles and Ariana Grande.

And Drake may have just rapped his eighth no. 1 hit to reality – “What’s Next” lyrics pretty much predicted the song would top the charts.

“I’m on the hot one hundo, numero uno / This one ain’t come with a bundle,” he raps. “I’m in the Wynn, a million in chocolate chips / And that’s just how my cookie crumble.”

And, yes, you read that right – Drake’s already landed the top spot in the “hot one hundo” eight times in the past decade – including his Rihanna collabs “What’s My Name?” in 2010 and “Work” in 2016. Then, there’s “One Dance” (feat. WizKid and Kyla), “God’s Plan,” “Nice For What,” “In My Feelings,” “Toosie Slide” and his current chart-topper, “What’s Next.”

Congrats, Drake!
