Drake has made music history.
On Friday (May 26), it was announced that the 36-year-old “God’s Plan” performer has surpassed over 80 billion streams on Spotify. This makes him the most streamed artist on the streaming service.
Chart Data has confirmed that Drake’s newly released song “Search&rescue” added more than 100 million streams to his count.
Just earlier this same year, Drake made history as the first ever person who reached over 75 billion streams on the platform.
When he surpassed the 75 billion stream mark, he suggested that Spotify should reward musicians for their achievements. He said at the time:
“We should get bonuses like athletes to motivate the future artists to be consistent and competitive.”
