Dua Lipa has finally spoken out about being snubbed by the Grammys for her latest album, Radical Optimism. Despite being a three-time Grammy winner—she snagged Best New Artist in 2019, among other honors—the 29-year-old pop sensation didn’t receive a single nomination for the 2025 awards.
While fans were shocked by the omission, Dua is taking it all in stride. Speaking to Billboard UK, she shared her thoughts on the snub, emphasizing her gratitude for the album’s success and its impact on her career.
“I’m so proud of Radical Optimism and where it’s brought me,” Dua said. “I love that album, and I’m having the time of my life performing it live. I’ve been able to do things that I thought I could only dream of this year, so I’m really grateful.”
Released earlier this year, Radical Optimism received critical acclaim for its bold themes and innovative sound. Many expected it to earn nominations in major categories, but the Recording Academy’s decision to overlook the project left fans and industry insiders scratching their heads.
While Dua admitted that being recognized by her peers would have been meaningful, she’s choosing to focus on the bigger picture.
“Although it would have been nice to be recognized by your industry, especially as a woman, I’m so proud seeing so many incredible female artists nominated at the Grammys this year,” she added.
The snub hasn’t slowed Dua down one bit. The Radical Optimism tour has been a massive success, with sold-out shows and rave reviews across the globe. Fans have praised the album’s empowering message and Dua’s electrifying performances, cementing her status as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
