Dwayne Johnson Returns To ‘Fast & Furious’ Franchise With Standalone Film

Dwayne Johnson is all set for his fast & Furious return.

After his cameo in the newly-released Fast X, the 51-year-old actor has announced that he has signed on to star in a standalone spinoff film spotlighting his character Luke Hobbs. 

As he announced the “long-awaited” project, Dwayne referenced his former feud with co-star Vin Diesel. He also revealed how his film was going to fit within the successful franchise. 

Dwayne took to Instagram to announce his comeback:

“Hope you’ve got your funderwear on… HOBBS IS BACK.

Luke Hobbs will be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise. Your reactions around the world to Hobbs’ return in Fast X have blown us away 🤯🙏🏾🌍”

He went on to tease what fans can expect of the movie:

“The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II.”

He shared in regards to Vin:

“Last summer @vindiesel and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve – and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.”

“I’ve built my career on an ‘Audience First’ mentality and that will always serve as my
North Star,”

He posted a video along with the caption, in which Dywyne thanked fans for their support of his cameo on Fast X:

“It’s not even unfinished business between Jason Momoa‘s character, who did a great job by the way with his character of Dante. It’s not even unfinished business between Dante and Hobbs. It’s business is about to pick up. Oh s-it. Business is about to pick up. So if you thought that The Rock versus Stone Cold Steve Austin headlining three Wrestlemanias – if you thought that was Earth-shattering – well, wait ’til you see what happens when Dante and Hobbs collide.”
