It’s Nurse Appreciation Week and Elizabeth Stanton, Worldwide Spokesperson for POPSTAR!, together with restaurant company Buca Di Beppo, has teamed up with New York’s Ellis Island Honors Society to thank healthcare workers in the frontlines against the coronavirus crisis.

Last week, Elizabeth partnered with Buca Di Beppo to launch a successful campaign – donating 5,000 meals from Buca Di Beppo to the hungry and vulnerable in the cities of Los Angeles and Burbank in California.

On Wednesday (May 6), which also happens to be Nurse Appreciation Day, they’re making an even bigger impact – kicking off a campaign to donate a total 10,000 meals to show support and appreciation for our courageous frontline workers who are facing tremendous challenges during this pandemic.

Elizabeth hopes her charitable campaign will inspire others who are in the position to help to do so during these uncertain times.

“We started our initiative last week in LA with 5,000 meals provided to vulnerable communities and have now reached across the country to thank frontline healthcare workers. We hope to inspire others to join us as together we provide another 10,000 meals to hospitals on the East Coast,” Elizabeth says.

Ellis Island Honors Society Chairman, Nasser J. Kazeminy, praised Elizabeth’s charitable efforts.

“Elizabeth’s commitment to this project is commendable. The Ellis Island Honors Society is delighted to partner with her on such an important cause. This is the time to stand together, under one flag, and do what we can to help America and our fellow citizens,” he said.

The Ellis Island Honors Society is a New-York based non-profit which sponsors the Ellis Island Medals of Honor, one of the nation’s most prestigious awards, which recognizes philanthropic Americans for their humanitarian activities.

The campaign, which will deliver 8,000 of Buca Di Beppo’s delicious meals to New York City hospitals, 800 meals to the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore, 700 meals to various Boston area hospitals, as well as meals to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, began Wednesday (May 6) and will continue through Nurses Week and beyond.
