Ellen Pompeo is all praises for her former Grey’s Anatomy co-star, Katherine Heigl.
The 52-year-old actress and producer shared her thoughts on the infamous comments Katherine made back in 2009 as the show was in its sixth season. At the time, Katherine stated that her typical work day was 17 hours and called it “cruel and mean.” She declared:
“I’m gonna keep saying this ‘cause I hope it embarrasses them.”
Now, in the latest episode of her podcast, Ellen addressed Katherine’s statements while speaking to friend and Grey’s co-star Kate Walsh. Ellen opened up about what Katherine said, candidly stating:
“I remember Heigl said something on a talk show about the insane hours we were working and she was 100% right.
Had she said that today, she’d be a complete hero. But she’s ahead of her time, made a statement about our crazy hours and of course, let’s slam a woman and call her ungrateful.”
Ellen went on to say that Katherine speaking out about their work hours back then was “100% honest” and that it was all “absolutely correct.” She declared about Katherine:
“She was f***ing ballsy for saying it. And she was telling the truth. She wasn’t lying.”
