More artists are turning down the chance to play the King Charles’ upcoming coronation.

The 74-year-old royal will officially be crowned King on May 6. A big part of the celebrations is the Coronation Concert, to be televised on May 7 – and according to reports, he is still trying to secure the artists who will be entertaining guests during the weekend-long affair.

Earlier, it was reported that Adele and Ed Sheeran have both turned down the invitation to perform at the coronation. Now, outlets reveal that more artists have opted out of performing.

Reportedly, Elton John, the Spice Girls, and Harry Styles are following in Adele and Ed’s footsteps.

A source told The Sun about Elton:

“Elton John was top of Charles’ list, but, due to his European tour, which sees him performing in Germany the Friday before, then again soon after the Windsor concert, he isn’t able to make the dash to the U.K. work.”

The Spice Girls seemed to be all but confirmed to perform as of last month. However, it appears not that reunited girl power will not be part of the royal event.

As for Harry, he insider said:

“Man-of-the-moment Harry Styles is also tied up with touring and unable to get key band members together, as they’ll be on much-needed downtime.”
