Last month, Emilia Clarke dropped the shocking news that she’s had to face a huge battle IRL – a battle for her life!

The Game Of Thrones star revealed that she’s had to go through two brain surgeries on separate occasions – after suffering two life-threatening aneurysms.

Watching her powerful performances onscreen, audiences would never have guessed that the 32-year-old actress was recovering from health struggles. Now, her co-stars are sharing a glimpse of Emilia’s strength and courage of what went on behind-the-scenes during the filming of Game Of Thrones earlier seasons.

Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont on the show, has spent most of the series alongside Emilia as their characters’ stories developed.

“I did [know about her health struggles],” he told ET. “She went through the mill. I mean, she’s such an amazing lady, and she was so strong, but she had real scares.”

“I think when you sort of come out the end of something like that, everything must feel golden,” he continued. “I think the Thrones family were great with her. I hope she’d say that, but they shepherded her and looked after her as much as they could.”

“I think in a funny way, she was always happy to get back to…I don’t know, the warm world of Thrones as that contradiction [to time in the hospital],” Iain shared. “But the spirit has always been extraordinary for all of us as actors while we’ve been on the show.”

Emilia’s on-screen hubby, Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo early on in the series, also got emotional when he opened up about the actress’ previous health struggles.

“I’ve kind of been a part of that whole situation for a very long time, so we’ve had so many scares and trying to find the right way to come out and help,” Jason told ET. “I just think it’s beautiful that… she’s so brave in helping the world and trying to raise awareness.”

“I’m very sad, because we almost lost her the first time. So, I love her to bits and she’s here and she’s going to do great things with it and teach the world,” he added.

In other Game Of Thrones news…

The beginning of the end is here.

The cast of Game of Thrones reunited on Wednesday night for the premiere of Season 8 in New York City.

Gwendoline Christie, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Nathalie Emmanuel, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Carice van Houten, Kit Harington and wife Rose Leslie, plus the Mother Of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, slayed on the red carpet in couture ensembles.

Fans were also treated to sightings of some old fan favorites, including Jason Momoa, who attended the premiere with his wife, Lisa Bonet. Natalie Dormer and Kristian Nairn also brought their style A-game to the red carpet.

One queen was missing though – and her absence was hard to miss. Lena Headey couldn’t be at the premiere to join her castmates.

Going on Instagram, the actress shared the reason behind her absence: “Gutted. Heartbroken and f–ked off, still doesn’t cover my disappointment at not being able to travel to NYC for our final prem tonight,” she wrote alongside a close-up selfie. “I f–king hate being sick and the timing of this is a sh-t bag. But .. S8 is the t-ts and

so are all my cast mates and crew mates and creators… so RIDE FORTH INTO THE NIGHT AND CREATE MAYHEM … Love you beauties ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💗💗💗💗💗.”
