Emily Ratajkowski has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind, and this time, she’s weighing in on a topic that hits close to home for her: getting divorced at a younger age. So, here’s what she had to say about it, and it’s got that casual and straightforward vibe.
In a TikTok message that seemed to some like a nod of support to Sophie Turner, who’s recently been in the headlines due to her divorce from Joe Jonas, Emily kicked things off with, “So, it seems that a lot of young ladies are getting divorced before they turn 30.”
Now, Emily knows a thing or two about this, having split from Sebastian Bear-McClard after a four-year marriage at the ripe age of 32. She dove right into her perspective, saying, “As someone who got married at 26 [who] has been separated for a little over a year [at] 32, I have to tell you, I don’t think there’s anything better. Being in your 20s is the trenches.”
You know, that period where you’re figuring things out, maybe not loaded with cash, but still exploring life’s twists and turns. Then she got real about what being in your 30s feels like, “There is nothing better than being in your 30s, still being hot, maybe having a little bit of your own money, figuring out what you want to do with your life [and] everything, and having tried that married fantasy and realizing that it’s maybe not all it’s cracked up to be.”
And here comes the kicker, her message to those who might be “feeling stressed” about the big ‘D’ word, divorce. She keeps it simple, “It’s good. Congratulations.”
But she doesn’t stop there. In her caption, Emily’s point is loud and clear, “Personally I find it chic to be divorced by the age of 30.”
In Emily’s book, getting divorced in your 30s is not just okay, it’s downright stylish. And she’s got a point. Life’s full of twists and turns, and sometimes, you’ve got to go through a few detours to find your own path. Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, or beyond, what matters most is finding your happiness and doing what’s right for you. Cheers to Emily for keeping it real!
