When Ed Sheeran posts a video of him jamming with someone and captions it with a date, it drives fans to speculate that a new collab is coming. That’s exactly what he did Thursday (June 3).
The “Shape Of You” singer went on Instagram to share a clip of him jamming out with Courteney Cox – she kicks off the jam sesh with her piano playing before Ed joins in on his guitar and some vocals.
“25th June,” he wrote in the captions.
While the whole thing seems totally cryptic at first, fans are convinced that the two may be coming out with a collab on said date. And they’re flooding the comments section to express their excitement.
“I’M READY,” one comment read.
“so here for that!!” a fan wrote.
“Ooh sounds interesting! Can’t wait for it!!” another commented.
Others were quick to work in a Friends reference in their messages.
“Can this be the new ‘pulling a Monica’ 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 ,” one person asked.
“I’ll be there for youuuu on 25th June 💙💙,” another wrote, seemingly referencing the Friends theme song.
“Someone get Joey on the drums,” a fan chimed in.
This isn’t the first time these two have made headline recently. Just earlier this week, Ed and Courteney went viral for hilariously recreating Monica and Ross’ “The Routine” from Friends.
“Just some routine dancing with a friend…,” Courtney wrote on Instagram, tagging Ed and adding “#ReRoutine”
“Had a reunion of our own this weekend,” Ed captioned his post, likewise tagging Courtney, and hashtagged it “#theroutine #iknow #friends4eva #obviouslybetterthanross.”
Both their posts earned lots of love from both fans and fellow celebs alike. David Schwimmer, who played Monica’s (Courteney) brother Ross didn’t see it till Thursday (June 3).
When they played it on BBC’s The One Show, David went, “What?!”
And after watching the clip, he joked, “He’s such a gifted singer and not dancer. Bless them. Amazing.”
And for those wondering why Ed and Courteney have been hanging out a lot lately, they’ve actually been close friends for years – Ed was the one who introduced Courteney to her boyfriend, Johnny McDaid, who’s also a musician.
As for Courteney’s piano skills, she appears to be a pretty accomplished pianist – her feed actually has a lot of clips of her jamming out to popular songs on the piano. Sometimes, her daughter Coco even joins in with vocals.
