Less than a year into their relationship, G-Eazy (real name: Gerald Earl Gillum) and Ashley Benson have reportedly called it quits. According to sources, the two were no longer on the same page about their relationship
As a refresher, the rapper and the actress first started sparking romance rumors in May of last year – after collaborating on a song. By September, G-Eazy has already met Ashley’s entire family when she took him to her sister’s wedding.
But it wasn’t until November that they made their relationship Instagram official, sharing photos their Halloween couples costume as Catwoman and Batman. He was totally still professing his love for her in December when he celebrated her birthday on social media, writing, “Happy birthday beautiful [heart emoji]. @ashleybenson I love you to the moon & back.”
Per E! News, although Ashley was aware that G-Eazy has “always been a ladies man,” she reportedly pulled the plug because she “had hesitations once they started getting serious.”
The insider claims that “she felt he hadn’t been fully committed to her” and “couldn’t stand him talking about other women.”
“Ashley didn’t like the way he was acting around her,” the insider said. “The vibe has just been off. She told him that it’s over.”
And, although this reportedly happened just a few days ago, another source says G-Eazy is already “embracing the single life.”
“G-Eazy really enjoys being in relationships and likes the idea of having a girlfriend, but his relationship with Ashley was becoming a bit too domestic for his liking and that was one of the reasons they broke up,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “Now that their relationship is over, he’s looking forward to being single.”
So far, neither G-Eazy nor Ashley have commented about the breakup – although, given that they were pretty coy about their relationship for months before going public, well, it’s not likely they will. However, Ashley’s social media activity may provide some clues: she’s no longer G-Eazy on Instagram.
