Ever wonder what exciting adventures await in outer space?
Five kids are about to find out when they get mistakenly launched into space – with absolutely no training whatsoever – in Nickelodeon and Imagine Kids+Family’s brand-new live-action series, The Astronauts.
Miya Cech (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Always Be My Maybe), Bryce Gheisar (Wonder, A Dog’s Purpose), Keith L. Williams (Good Boys, The Last Man on Earth), Kayden Grace Swan (A Black Lady Sketch Show); and Ben Daon (Child’s Play) star in the epic adventure that’s totally out of this world.
Before launching into orbit on the airwaves, POPSTAR! caught up with the cast of The Astronauts, as well as the show’s creator Daniel Knauf, at the drive-in screening to celebrate the premiere on October 30 at the Universal Backlot. All cast, crew, & staff were tested before the event to ensure the safest possible experience.
Daniel, who’s also writer and executive producer for the show, opened up about having something for everybody in the family show.
“Kids are little grownups, aren’t they? So, it was just like writing drama,” he tells POPSTAR! at the premiere.
He says to expect “all the reality of Apollo 13,” only with kids in the cockpit, and watch out for “danger, deep dives, and scary moments.”
But it’s not just the grownups who had a blast on set – the kids got to learn a little something about being an astronaut from an actual real-life astronaut, too.
“We actually had the privilege to speak to an astronaut, Chris Cassidy, who’ s up in space right now,” Ben shares with POPSTAR!
