Congratulations are in order for Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik – the couple have welcomed their first child together!
Zayn went on Twitter to announce the happy news on Wednesday night (September 23),
” Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful🙏🏽❤️to try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding.Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x,” the singer captioned a black-and-white pic of him holding his daughter’s hand.
Hours later, the new mom also confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing another photo Zayn and their newborn daughter holding hands, writing, “Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love🥺💕.”
News that the couple were expecting their first child together hit the headlines towards the end of April – Gigi herself confirmed the pregnancy just a few days later.
She’s mostly kept her pregnancy journey on the DL, but has shared a few rare photos and updates on her pregnancy with fans – including confirming that she was at 33 weeks at the end of August.
Last week, Gigi’s dad, Mohamed, caused a stir among fans when he shared a heartfelt letter for his grandchild on Instagram, which got many wondering if it meant that the Gigi had already given birth.
The post has since been taken down, but according to Just Jared, the letter read: “Hello little grandchild, it is me. My heart as happy as can be. I wish for you the sun and moon. I wish for you a happy time. Know that Grandpa’s always near, I’ll do anything, anything for you my dear. When I heard you were on the way, I smiled and wiped a tear away. I cried the tear because I knew my heart would always belong to you.”
The outlet also reports that Mohamed did set the record straight about his granddaughter’s arrival, replying to a fan asking if Gigi had already given birth in the comments. His response was, “no not yet.”
It looks like grandpa was just really excited about welcoming his granddaughter.
Zayn and Gigi are yet to reveal their daughter’s name.
