Gigi Hadid, the 28-year-old model we all adore, has been dishing out some insights into her personal life and family lately. It’s not every day we get a glimpse into the world of a superstar like Gigi, so let’s dive right in.
In new interviews, she’s been dropping a few hints about her precious daughter, Khai, achieving a good work-life balance. She even spilled the beans on how she’s handling co-parenting with her ex, Zayn Malik.
In a recent cover story for NET-A-PORTER, Gigi got real about the art of balancing work and motherhood. She mentioned Zayn as she talked about their co-parenting arrangement, saying, “I think when you are a parent, you have to be intentional because, now, I literally have half the time. I work when my daughter is with her dad [Zayn Malik], and that’s the time I have.”
It’s pretty clear that Gigi is all about making the most of her time, filling it with work that truly fulfills her. She even admitted to being a bit of a workaholic on those days, but hey, when it means a lot to you, you do what you gotta do, right?
In another interview, this time with W Magazine for their Volume 4, The Fashion Issue, Gigi opened up about changing her work schedule in early 2020 when she was pregnant with her daughter. She said that’s when she started pondering a more stable work schedule, especially when she had a bun in the oven. She wanted a gig that didn’t involve jet-setting to a different country every week. As she put it, “I wanted something where I could go to the same office every day. I’d never had that. I could have a schedule with a child, and then be able to base my work life around that.”
Speaking of her adorable munchkin, Khai, Gigi couldn’t help but gush a little. They have some pretty cute mother-daughter rituals going on. “We get ready together. She watches me do my thing. She’ll brush her teeth with me, and now she’s wanting to put moisturizer on, which is so cute…she really makes me laugh. We crack up and dance all day and talk a lot. She’s almost 3, and she is a genius, if I do say so myself.”
Gigi and Zayn welcomed Khai into the world back on September 19, 2020. Fast forward a bit, and she’ll be turning three years old in just a few weeks. Time sure does fly, doesn’t it?
