The ‘It Ends With Us’ legal saga has taken a surprising toll on some of Hollywood’s closest friendships—specifically the bond between Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, and Gigi Hadid.
Recently, Taylor’s found herself in the spotlight not for her music, but because she was unexpectedly dragged into the legal chaos surrounding Blake Lively and her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. Earlier this year, Taylor was named in legal documents connected to the case. Now, Justin’s lawyer has served the singer with a subpoena, reportedly to call her as a witness in the trial.
The move didn’t sit well with Taylor’s team. Her spokesperson responded, making it clear how they felt about the legal maneuver. And now, a source close to the singer says the whole situation has put a serious strain on her relationship with Blake.
“Their friendship has halted. Taylor wants no part in this drama,” the insider revealed to People. That doesn’t mean they’ve had a full falling-out. According to the same source, they’re “not no longer friends,” but are simply “taking some space.”
The ripple effects don’t stop there. Gigi Hadid, who’s long been part of Taylor’s tight-knit circle and is also close friends with Blake, has found herself caught in the middle—and apparently, she’s chosen a side.
“Gigi feels terrible that her close friend is being pulled into the legal drama,” one insider told the outlet. Another added, “Gigi is closer to Taylor and has definitely taken her side in this whole drama. Gigi doesn’t want to get involved in this whole ordeal, but she is closer to Taylor and has distanced herself from Blake although she still considers her a friend.”
It’s unclear how all of this will affect the long-term dynamic among the trio, but the tension is real—and growing. Adding to the drama are the recent reports that Blake’s legal team allegedly tried to extort Taylor, though a judge has since ruled that those claims are inadmissible in court.
