It’s no secret that Henry Golding knows his way around a salon – but, apparently, his previous career as a hairdresser has also allowed him to cross paths with a member of the Royal Family.
On Thursday’s (July 22) episode of Watch What Happens Live!, the 34-year-old actor opened up about his pre-celebrity days in the presence of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, a.k.a. Prince William’s wife.
“Kate Middleton used to come to the hairdressers that I used to work at way before,” Henry told host Andy Cohen.
While he didn’t personally tend to Kate’s brunette tresses at the time, he did have another high-profile client closely related to the Duchess.
“I cut her brother [James Middleton]’s hair a long time ago,” he shared.
Recalling the experience, he said, “Really sweet family, very sweet family, so that’s my brush with the royals.”
Earlier in his guest appearance, Henry was also asked about another British icon: James Bond.
With the upcoming 25th Bond film No Time To Die being Daniel Craig’s last in his role as 007, there’s a lot of speculations about who will take on the role of the secret agent next.
When asked about rumors that his name is in the running to be the next James Bond, his reply wasn’t a “no.”
“I guess they’re looking for another candidate, so of course, any right sort of man would want to put their hand up for it, so sure,” Henry said.
As for the possibility of another chance at meeting the Royal Family, “You know, if you’re James Bond you’re going to be having dinner at the palace with the queen,” Andy pointed out.
“I guess that comes hand-in-hand,” Henry agreed.
