Kat Dennings is opening up about the “magical” way Andrew W.K. popped the question!
The couple got engaged in May 2021, just days after their relationship was revealed to the public.
Now, the 35-year-old Dollface actress is sharing the details of their proposal story.
In an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Monday (February 21), Kat spoke about their engagement, saying:
“It’s great. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. He’s a sweet, baby angel.”
She spoke about being grateful to have waited til she found the right one for her:
“Well I’m 35, so I waited a very, very good chunk of time to get married and I am so glad I waited until I found the right person. It’s really hard. Everybody goes through the nightmarish time of life looking for that person, or not whatever floats your boat, but I feel very lucky and he’s the best.”
Kat then recounted that ‘magical’ moment of getting engaged:
“He had a special moment that makes me believe in magic. We were doing kissing and we had like a shared feeling. I felt this intense feeling, this is my person, this is it. I can’t be without him this is the man I am supposed to be with.
And we looked at each other and we both proposed at the same time.
Not planned. No knee down. I don’t even remember what happened after that. We were, we were like, ‘Should we get married?’ ‘Yes.’”
And she sweetly added:
“I just burst into tears. I never thought I had it in me because I’, kind of a toughie but I did, I wept happy tears. I felt this sense of relief like I’ve done it.
I made it through the wilderness and found this incredible person. Yeah, no one believes me but I assure you that’s what happened.”
