The iconic Betty White is turning 99 this Sunday (January 17), and although COVID-19 may have put a bit of a damper on her plans to celebrate her milestone birthday, she’s still has a pretty pleasant day planned.
“You probably didn’t ask, but I’ll tell you anyway,” she said in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “What am I doing for my birthday? Running a mile each morning has been curtailed by COVID, so I am working on getting The Pet Set re-released.”
She’ll also be “feeding the two ducks who come to visit me every day” on her special day.
National treasure that she is, aside from being a legendary actress and comedian, Betty has a love for all animals – in fact, she hosted an entire series about them some 50 years ago. The Pet Set is being re-released on streaming services and DVD next month.
Sounds like a super chill and lovely celebration. Hopefully, her celebrations with also include some of her favorite things – hot dogs, vodka, cake, and poker.
Back when she turned 96, Betty told Parade Magazine that she credits vodka and hot dogs with living a long and happy life – and, yes, “probably in that order.” The year after, she celebrated her birthday with cake and a poker game with some of her closest friends.
Isn’t she the coolest?
Happy Birthday, Betty!
