Demi Lovato ready to put her most recent romance behind her.
ICYMI, Demi and fiancé Max Ehrich called it quits on their whirlwind romance last week – just two months after they got engaged.
Over the weekend, Max went on IG Stories claiming that he found out about the breakup the same time everyone else did – when the reports came out. He also added that he and Demi “haven’t officially ended anything to each other, literally,” despite sources saying he definitely knew about the breakup before the news hit the media.
“Demi made Max aware that the relationship was over and it was going to come out in the press,” a source close to Demi told PEOPLE.
Another source recently told E! News that Demi is so done with Max.
“Demi wants no contact with Max at this point. She is completely embarrassed at the way he’s been acting and putting their relationship on blast via social media. She wants nothing to do with him,” a source told the outlet.
Apparently, he “tried to reach out” to Demi and is reportedly “in denial” that their engagement is dunnzo.
“Demi is completely done and doesn’t want to see him again at this point,” the source added. “She can’t believe she fell into his trap and is really upset over it.”
As for how Demi is dealing post-breakup, “She’s been spending a lot of time with her family and friends to help heal from this and they are all keeping her occupied and rallying around her,” the source said.
Max has since gone on social media – again! – to seemingly confirm that he has finally spoken to Demi. Or, at the very least, gotten closure he needed.
“One chapter finally closed this am. And now I turn the page,” he shared in a note on his story. “Focused on wellness, love, God, my family, friends, and my art. Good vibes only :)”
Fans have also noticed that both Demi and Max have taken down ALL their photos together – but Max still has photos of him and Demi’s dog, Batman, on his feed.
While Demi hasn’t publicly addressed their split – nor have their reps, a source told Entertainment Tonight that long distance and trust issues became a factor in the breakup.
“Demi and Max’s relationship shifted once the couple got back to work and were separated,” the source tells ET. “Max is in Atlanta working on set and Demi is in L.A. The couple is used to being together and the separation made [them] realize they were moving too fast.”
Demi also felt that Max “”wasn’t being honest about things” at times.
“She’s worked very hard to get to a good place and isn’t willing to put up with anything that doesn’t serve her in a positive way,” the source added. “The breakup was for the best.”
