Pete Davidson has been the subject of headlines with his high-profile romances – rumored or otherwise. He was previously engaged to Ariana Grande, and was romantically linked with Cazzie David, Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, and Kaia Gerber. Now, he’s rumored to be dating Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor.
In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, he got candid about how he approaches women he’s interested in. He says he always goes for honesty.
“I am just very, very honest. I think what a lot of people do is they try to put on a version of themselves that they would like to be, eventually that will unravel,” he explained. “So I just off the top I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m nuts. Here’s all my issues. Here’s what I do. Here’s the therapist. This is what happens.'”
That said, he says his approach doesn’t always work.
“That could either be a lot for someone or… they could be like, ‘Cool, that’s refreshingly honest.’ Or sometimes it can be a little intense and weird and people can’t handle that stuff,” he shared.
He also foregoes “playing any of the games,” and prefers a more direct approach.
“No, if I’m into you, I’m really into you,” the Saturday Night Live comedian continued. “It just creates this whole anxiety and a lot of stress, and there’s enough of that going on. So, I think, like, that part of the relationship, it should be so easy. It should just be like, ‘Hey, there’s something wrong today.’ ‘Hey, I’m really happy today.’ Communication is really key.”
Pete and Phoebe began sparking rumors towards the end of March. It’s speculated that the two met in New York while Phoebe was filming Younger. Then, reports came out that the two may have struck up a romance – so much so that Pete flew all the way to the U.K. at the time to visit Phoebe, who’s filming a project there.
Last month, the two of them were snapped TOGETHER for the first time on Sunday (April 25) – somewhere near Stoke-on-Trent, a city just south of Manchester, all the way in jolly ol’ England. But they weren’t just out for a stroll together – in some of the photos, they had their arms wrapped around each other!
While neither have publicly commented on their actual relationship status, they haven’t denied any of the romance rumors either. In a Zoom session with Marquette University students where he was featured as a speaker, Pete also appeared to confirm that he’s no longer single, saying, “I’m with my celebrity crush.” Plus, fans spotted them wearing matching pendants of their mutual initals PD.
