Fans have been eagerly anticipating Drake’s upcoming new album, Certified Lover Boy, which he began teasing back in October. But it looks fans will have to wait a little longer.

CLB was set to drop in January, but Drake just went on Instagram Story with an update:
“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery.

I’m blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”

However, it appears that the album will drop sometime later this year, because he concluded his post with: “I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

ICYMI, towards the end of October 2020, Drake shared a photo of his leg in a brace, which prompted fans to speculate that the rapper got injured. Based on the brace, some fans speculated that it might have been a torn ACL or a torn fibrous cartilage in his leg. But Drizzy is yet to open up about what happened to his knee and no official word has been released.

This isn’t the first time CLB’s release has been pushed back. It was originally scheduled to drop last year – but then the pandemic happened and it got postponed.

This isn’t the first time Drake has gotten surgery either. Back in 2009, he tore three ligaments while performing onstage, and he later revealed to fans that he had gotten surgery for his knee and even had to go to rehab for it.

Get well soon, Drake!
