Elizabeth Gillies and Ariana Grande have been friends for years – they co-starred on Victorious together during their Nickelodeon days, reuniting onscreen in 2018 for Ari’s “7 rings” music video.

With fans aware of their long-time friendship, some have been wondering if Elizabeth was among the very few who got a front row seat to see Ari and Dalton Gomez say “I do” during their intimate wedding on May 15.

The Dynasty actress was asked that very question during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live!, during which she revealed the predicament that prevented her attending the wedding.

“I could not get off of work to go to her wedding because we would have to be cleared for like seven days to fly. So not only could I not tell anybody, but I also couldn’t even ask for the day off and I couldn’t get the day off,” Elizabeth explained, responding to a fan’s question. “I would’ve been there.”

“Sorry to hear that,” host Andy Cohen said.

“Me too. Me too,” she seconded.

Ari and Dalton tied the knot right in their Montecito, California home with less than 20 guests in attendance. The gorgeous bride looked positively radiant in her Vera Wang gown while Dalton looked dapper in a Tom Ford suit.

Last week, Ari shared photos from their honeymoon in Netherlands, posting a slideshow of nature shots, Dutch landmarks, and a sweet photo of the two of them sitting inside a pair of giant wooden shoes.

The post was simply captioned, “🐌🧇” – the snail and the waffle are both associated with the Dutch capital.

According to sources, the couple plans on taking more trips together in the future.

“Ariana and Dalton felt like before they were married they couldn’t be as open about their relationship without it being scrutinized in the media and now they feel way more at ease. They have plans to travel more together and feel closer than ever,” a source previously told Entertainment Tonight.
