Hilary Duff’s family is growing!
The Younger star gave birth to daughter Mae James Bair, on Wednesday (March 24), making her mom to a brood of three – she’s already mom to eight-year-old son Luca from her previous marriage, and two-year-old daughter Banks, whom she shares with husband Matthew Koma.
On Friday (March 26), Hilary seemingly hinted at the baby news when she posted a photo of Banks chilling in the tub captioned, “I’m a big sister ……. marinating on how I feel about that!”
She confirmed it one day later, announcing that she’d given birth to the newest addition to her family.
“Mae James Bair- We LOVE you beauty 3-24-21,” she wrote alongside a new family photo with all five members – Hilary, Matthew, Luca, Banks, and baby Mae.
She also shared more photos of her little bundle of joy on Instagram Story and thanked her “birthing dream team.”
“Mountains of love for this birthing dream team!” Hilary wrote on the group photo of the people who helped welcome baby Mae into the world.
Hilary announced in October that she and Matthew were expecting their second child together – Luca is Hilary’s son from a previous marriage.
“We are growing!!! Mostly me …,” she jokingly captioned a boomerang clip of Matthew rubbing her baby bump.
Then, when she switched up her hair color to blue, people thought it was a subtle hint that she was expecting a boy. However, Hilary revealed that at the time, she and her hubby didn’t even know the baby’s gender yet.
“I know the blue hair seems like we do know, but we really don’t,” the 32-year-old actress shared on the Informed Pregnancy Podcast with Dr. Elliot Berlin, opening up about her newly dyed blue ‘do.
“I’m actually a little scared to have another girl because Banks was a tough — she was a tough cookie as a baby, but she’s so great now, so I could see it,” she said of her 2-year-old daughter. “But then I don’t know, in my mind I’m like, ‘Maybe she’s my only little princess and she’s going to have her rough-and-tumble brothers.'”
Earlier this month, her friend Sharmeen threw her a baby shower. Sharing a montage of photos from their celebration, Hilary thanked her friend and also shared the precautions she and her guests had taken prior to the event.
“I can’t thank you enough for planning the most special day,” she wrote alongside the video. The theme of the shower was autumn color scheme, with orange, peach, yellow and brown balloons and decor.
“I seriously wasn’t planning on a party like this for baby #3 during these times but you found a way to strong arm everyone into testing haha and honestly the day was so relaxing,” Hilary added. “I got quality time with many of my LA friends who I haven’t been able to see in one setting in so long and deeply missed my tried and trues who live far away.”
“I love all of these women,” she added of her gal pals and family members who attended. “Thank you for showing up for me in life through the thick and the thin. The thick being holy s–t I’m having a third child…send help!”
