Over the weekend, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez stirred up early 2000s nostalgia after multiple outlets reported sightings of Ben visiting J.Lo at her place in Los Angeles.
“They have spent time together in L.A. over the past week,” a source tells PEOPLE. “They have a lot of love for each other. They have always admired each other.”
And, according to a Page Six source, “Security picks him up at a nearby location and drops him off after spending a few hours at her house.”
They were also both in attendance at the VAX LIVE charity concert on Sunday (May 2).
FYI, J.Lo is newly single – she and ex-fiance Alex Rodriguez announced their split on April 15. Ben is also single – he and Ana de Armas split earlier this year.
And the whole sitch has fans wondering how Ben’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner feels about the whole thing. As a reminder, Ben and J.Lo were engaged from 2002-2004. Ben and Jen were married in 2005 – they separated in 2015, and finalized their divorce in 2018.
It’s all cool though. According to an Entertainment Tonight source, “Jen isn’t bothered by Ben hanging out with J.Lo or anyone else. She wants what is best for Ben.”
“What matters most to her is Ben being a great dad,” the source continues. “They’ve been in a good groove when it comes to co-parenting for a while and their kids’ happiness is Jen’s main priority.”
And, besides, another source tells Entertainment Tonight that J.Lo and Ben hanging out is totally just a friendly thing. “Jennifer and Ben have seen each other a few times since her breakup with Alex. Jen and Ben have remained friends over the years and the two are still just that – friends.”
While Ben is obviously still on good terms with both exes, it looks like he has moved on from those romances. He’s reportedly dipped his toes back in the dating pool by joining the dating app to the stars, Raya.
A TikTok user, Nivine Jay, shared a video on the platform saying she had matched with Ben on Raya – but unmatched him because she thought it was a fake account. She also shared a video that Ben allegedly DM’d her on Instagram saying that it really was him.
The clip showed a closeup of the actor’s face, and he can be heard saying, “Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me.”
Although the authenticity of the claims and video has not been verified, it looks like Ben’s alleged reaction sparked some backlash among fans.
But Nivine says she didn’t mean for Ben to come off poorly when she shared the clip. “I’m seeing a lot of comments calling him a creep and l don’t think that’s fair. l wasn’t making fun of him in the video,” she said in a statement to E News!. “l was making fun of myself for thinking he was a catfish and it was just supposed to be funny.”
