Over the weekend, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker made headlines with reports of a blossoming romance.
The two have been pals for years, however, sources are now saying that something’s changed between the two, and, according to multiple outlets, Kourt and Travis are now officially dating.
Apparently, they’ve already gotten the thumbs up from Kourtney’s fam.
“Kourtney’s family is super supportive of the relationship and loves Travis,” a source tells Entertainment Tonight. “He has been a family friend for such a long time and Kourtney has been single for a while, so they’re all very happy for her and think this is the healthiest relationship that she could be in.”
But how does Kourtney’s ex, Scott Disick, whom she shares three children with, feel about the new couple?
“Scott hasn’t been reacting much to Kourtney and Travis dating,” ET’s source said. “It’s always a bit of an adjustment when one of them is dating someone new, but at the end of the day, he obviously wants Kourtney to be happy and they’re focused on co-parenting together.”
And according to an E! News source, Scott’s pretty happy that Kourtney has found someone.
“Scott has been around Travis on several occasions and thinks he’s a great guy,” a source tells E! News. “He’s really happy for Kourtney and is not surprised they are dating. Kourtney has spent a lot of time with Travis and it’s not shocking to him that they developed a romantic relationship.”
“She hasn’t dated someone in a while and Scott wants her to be happy,” the insider continues, noting that Kourtney and Scott are now just friends and co-parents.
“There’s no romance there and he couldn’t be happier that she’s moved on,” the source says. “As long as the kids are in a healthy situation and Kourtney’s in a good place, then Scott is happy for them.”
This isn’t the first time that Kourtney and Scott have had to navigate these waters after going their separate ways in 2015 – remember when Scott was dating Sofia Richie and Kourtney was dating Younes Bendjima? More recently, Scott’s been linked with 19-year-old model Amelia Hamlin – they were spotted ringing in the New Year together in Mexico.
ICYMI, over the weekend, Kourtney and Travis sparked some major romance rumors after sharing similar photos on social media. Fans speculated that the two were spending time together in Kris Jenner’s home in Palm Springs, California. It also didn’t escape fans’ notice that the Travis has been leaving flirty comments on Kourtney’s insta for days before that.
At the time, a source told ET that the two becoming more than friends was something that was fairly recent.
“Kourtney and Travis have had a platonic relationship for years and they’ve been friends and family friends for a very long time, but recently something sparked and their relationship has turned romantic,” the source said.
But, given that they’ve been friends for years, they just totally click.
“They live on the same block and things are super easy between them because they know each other so well and just click and get one another,” the source adds. “Her kids and his kids get along so well too, which is a major plus for both of them.”
