J-Hope, a member of the global sensation BTS, has officially completed his mandatory military service! On Thursday, October 17, the 30-year-old K-pop star was discharged after completing his 18-month enlistment in South Korea’s military, a requirement for all able-bodied men before the age of 28.

To mark the special day, J-Hope posed for photos at the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju, Gangwon-do province. Dressed in his camouflage uniform and a black beret, he looked every bit the part, confidently striking formal poses for photographers who gathered to capture the moment.

What made the occasion even more special was the reunion with his bandmate Jin, who was the first BTS member to complete his service earlier this year. Jin, who finished his duty in June 2024, showed up to greet J-Hope with two massive bouquets of flowers. He opted for a bold, monochromatic red outfit that made him stand out amidst the crowd.

Fans couldn’t help but feel emotional seeing the two BTS members together again. Their bond, which has been at the heart of BTS’s success, was evident as they shared smiles and laughter during the reunion.

J-Hope’s enlistment began in February 2023, and his time in service followed Jin’s, who was the first to enlist back in December 2022. With J-Hope now officially discharged, ARMY (BTS’s fanbase) is counting down the days until the rest of the group finishes their own mandatory service.

At the moment, the remaining BTS members—Suga, V, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook—are all actively serving. Each member is expected to complete their service within the next few years, paving the way for a long-awaited full group reunion. While the exact timing of their returns has not been confirmed, fans are already buzzing with excitement for the moment BTS can once again perform together as a complete group.

BTS has always been known for their unity, and the bandmates have consistently supported each other through their individual enlistments. J-Hope’s return to civilian life marks another step closer to BTS’s eventual comeback as a full team. With both him and Jin now back, ARMYs are eager to see what’s next for the group.

The group’s military service has only made fans’ love for them stronger, as they continue to show unwavering support for each member. As BTS slowly reunites, anticipation builds for the new music and performances that are sure to follow once the entire group is back together.
