Jada Pinkett-Smith has opened up about her rumored relationship with August Alsina in a heart-to-heart with hubby Will Smith.

On Friday (July 10), Jada brought herself to the infamous Red Table on her Emmy-nominated talk show, Red Table Talk, where she revealed to her husband that she did have an “entanglement” with the 27-year old singer while she and her husband were separated.

“We were over,” she said. “From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”

“An entanglement? A relationship,” Will pressed.

“I was in a lot of pain and I was very broken,” she responded.

And when Will asked her what she was looking for with August at the time, she replied, “I just wanted to feel good. It had been so long since I had felt good.”

Jada and Will have been married since 1997 and have two kids together – Jaden and Willow – and they say they’re currently back together. They say they wanted to do the show to clear up speculations going around following August’s interview.

As a refresher, in a recent interview with Angela Yee, singer August Alsina dropped a bombshell – he claims he and Jada Pinkett-Smith dated for years while she was married to Will Smith AND that Will even gave them his blessing. August also went on to say that he “deeply loved” Jada, and that Will and Jada’s marriage was an open one.

According to Capital Extra, August and Jada met through her son, Jaden – this was way back in 2015. August attended the BET Awards in 2017 with Jada, which began sparking dating rumors. Entertainment Tonight reports that the rumors circulated for some time – some fans even speculated that August’s 2019 song “Nunya” is about the actress.

Jada also addressed August’s claims that Will gave them his blessing.

“The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself,” Jada said, adding, “I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a home-wrecker. Which he’s not.”

BUT she says that she hasn’t spoken to August in years.

Will also admitted their brief split took a toll on him.

“I wasn’t sure I was ever going to speak to you again. Like the fact that I’m speaking to you again is a miracle. [Marriage] ain’t for the weak at heart. There’s just certain things that you have to go through. I wish it could be all magic and miracles,” he said.

“You gotta go through some s— to get the answers. And I’m just happy because I definitely believe that you and I, we never ever, ever thought that we would make it back,” Jada agreed.

“It’s the idea of any relationship and trying to get to a deeper understanding of love is going to be forced in fire. There’s no way around it,” she added. “And I think that one of the things that I’m deeply grateful for in this whole process between you and I is that we have really gotten to that new place of unconditional love.”

According to Jada, they have now reached a place of “unconditional love” – the couple has previously describe their relationship as a “life partnership” rather than a marriage.

“[It’s] where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with someone for the rest of your life,” he told Tidal’s Rap Radar podcast in a July 2018 interview.

On Friday’s RTT episode, Will expressed that their relationship has only gotten stronger, “There’s a real power in just knowing somebody’s riding with you no matter what. And you really can’t know that until you go through some stuff.”

And the two ended their talk with a fist bump and a repurposed tagline from Will’s movie Bad Boys.

“We ride together, we die together. Bad marriage for life.”
