Jada Pinkett-Smith is certainly not holding back when it comes to sharing details about her marriage and personal life. The actress and Red Table Talk host, who has been promoting her new book “Worthy,” has been making some surprising revelations about her long-standing marriage to Will Smith.

After revealing that she and Will had been secretly separated since 2016, Jada decided to address the persistent rumors about their relationship. The rumors about them having an open marriage have circulated for years, and Jada didn’t shy away from addressing them head-on.

Jada debunked speculations that they might have had affairs during their marriage and emphatically stated their faithfulness: “We eliminated the chance of betrayal. It’s like, ‘Let’s talk about it. Let’s work through it together. Let’s be in partnership. Let’s not keep each other in the dark.”

She also provided insight into what keeps them together. Jada emphasized the unique bond they share: “What we do know is that in this lifetime, we’re what we got. I’ll never forget, I said it on Red Table Talk. People weren’t really privy to what was happening in our relationship at the time, but I said, ‘You might be on one side of this house with somebody, and I might be on the other side of this house with somebody, but we’re going to be in this house together.’ That’s what we’re going to do. And that’s just what it is. It’s like we just have this incredible bond with one another.”

Jada humorously hinted at her control over certain decisions, even in their old age: “And I tell him all the time. I say, ‘If you think for one minute I’m going to give up the right to pull that plug… when your tail is in that hospital and a hundred years old, I’m pulling that plug. Nobody else is going to get there. I worked hard to be able to pull that plug. Pull it. That’s my call.”

Their “deep love” for each other remains the core of their relationship, and Jada expressed the importance of figuring out what that means for them in the long run, even if it’s not for the faint of heart: “But we just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us. And that is the thing that’s most important. Trust me, that is not for the faint at heart.”

In her revelations, Jada clarified that there have been stages in their marriage where they decided to live separately without making it public. It was during these periods that people might have speculated about them having an open relationship: “As time went on, there were different stages in my marriage where Will and I decided we were not together. We didn’t tell the public, where I was actually thinking about divorcing, separating. There’ve been several of those where we’ve gone and lived our separate lives. So I think within that is where people might’ve thought that, ‘Oh, they must be having an open relationship.’”

But that’s not all. Jada shared an amusing anecdote about comedian Chris Rock. Following the reports that she and Will were getting a divorce every summer, Chris mistakenly believed that they were indeed divorcing. He reached out to Jada, expressing interest in taking her out. Jada cleared up the rumors, and Chris was left surprised and apologetic:

“I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that.”
