Jennifer Garner and John Miller have reportedly split after nearly two years of dating.
“Jen and John called it quits several months ago. They’ve remained friends. They just started seeing less and less of each other and finally called it quits,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “She has nothing negative to say about John; they just seemed to drift apart. She says he was an amazing stepping stone in her life.”
“Jen’s focus still remains on her children, her career and spending time with those who make her really happy,” the source adds.
News broke that the Jen and John were dating soon after the actress finalized her divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck back in October 2018. The two met through mutual friends, and immediately hit it off. A source told ET at the time that John, who’s a successful businessman, “has no interest in being in the entertainment industry.”
There were reports that the two were getting serious
On Wednesday (August 5), Jennifer was snapped hanging out with long-time pal Bradley Cooper and his three-year-old daughter Lea De Seine, whom he shares with ex Irina Shayk.
In photos published by TMZ, the trio hit up Malibu beach – a shirtless Brad played with his daughter on the sand, with Jennifer joining in on the fun. At one point, Brad lounged back on the beach, leaving Jen and Lea to enjoy each other’s company.
Jen and Bradley have known each other for a long time – they starred together on Alias. At the time, there were rumors that there was a little something something between the two, but those were never confirmed.
Sources say the two have remained friends since the show wrapped.
“Jen and Bradley have been friends for years, ever since they worked together on Alias,” a source told ET. “Jen raves about what a wonderful friend Bradley has always been to her.”
Jen has also shared some insight into their long-time friendship.
When she honored him at the American Cinematheque Awards back in November 2018, she said she was one of the first to meet him when he got to Hollywood.
“I took him home and made him dinner… I’m still making him dinner,” she quipped.
She also had glowing words for his successful acting career and directorial debut. “Bradley, what’s happening to you now is a pure joy to those who know you, especially to those of us who’ve known you from the start,” she said. “It turns out you weren’t just handsome all along. You were also a wonder, and you are welcome at my table anytime.”
Bradley is also friends with Jen’s ex-hubby, Ben, who has repeatedly given Bradley, as well as Robert Downey Jr., a shoutout for helping him with his sobriety journey.
“[These are] guys who have been very supportive and to whom I feel a great sense of gratitude,” Ben told The New York Times in an interview earlier this year. “One of the things about recovery that I think people sometimes overlook is the fact that it inculcates certain values. Be honest. Be accountable. Help other people. Apologize when you’re wrong.”
Ben mentioned them again when he appeared on Good Morning America, saying “Bradley and Robert have been really helpful to me, and really supportive. They’re wonderful men.”
Earlier this summer, Jen offered encouragement to a fan who shared that she had split from her husband in a comment on one of the actress’ social media posts.
“Your heart sounds heavy, I am so sorry. Hopefully you have powerful women in your corner, reminding you of your strength and your worth. Hopefully, you are able to calm your mind and heart with prayer/meditation/exercise/art. Laughter will come and really–it is worth fighting for. Until then, all of my love,” she responded to the fan’s comment.
