Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were spotted having dinner over the weekend – at the very restaurant where they had their first date!

ICYMI, J.Lo and A-Rod announced on April 15 that they were calling off their nearly two-year engagement.

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects.”

J.Lo just wrapped shooting Shotgun Wedding in the Dominican Republic and is back stateside. And, according to an E! News source, Alex had wanted to give their relationship another shot.

“Alex flew out to L.A. on Thursday night to see Jennifer,” the source told E! News. “He doesn’t want to give up on their relationship and is willing to do whatever he has to do. He spent two nights with her trying to work things out.”

“He keeps trying to show her how serious he is and how much he loves her. But she still feels that their issues can’t be resolved and that they should move on. He headed back to Miami alone on Saturday morning. He doesn’t want to give up, but she is adamant about moving on,” the source continued.

Page Six reports that the pair had dinner at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, which is reportedly near one of J.Lo’s homes, on Friday (April 23) night. While the venue seems to be a logical choice in terms of logistics, there may be another reason why they chose to dine there: Apparently, it’s where J.Lo and A-Rod went on their first date back in 2017!

A source told the outlet that the former couple seemed amicable during dinner. “There still seemed to be love and respect there,” the source said.

However, per an Entertainment Tonight source, “the dinner did not appear to be a romantic situation” and that J.Lo and A-Rod arrived separately and left separately.

So far, neither of them have spoken publicly about their recent reunion – and their reps didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

J.Lo and A-Rod started dating in 2017 and became engaged in 2019. They were gearing up to tie the knot – but had to cancel their wedding plans twice amid the ongoing pandemic. Their blended families quarantined together during lockdown – and it’s obvi that their kids also became really close.

In March, split rumors began swirling around them. At the time, however, they addressed the rumors with a statement saying, “All reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.”

When J.Lo flew to the Dominican Republic to film Shotgun Wedding, Alex flew in to visit her – and they were even spotted packing on the PDA at the resort where she was staying. At the time, things appeared hopeful that they would work things out.

According to an ET source, the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” singer “tried her hardest” to make the relationship work, but it just “wasn’t making her happy anymore.”

Another source tells the outlet, “There were issues when it came to wedding plans and trust issues that she couldn’t get past.”

“Her kids are sad about the breakup because they all grew so close, but ultimately want what’s best for their mom and for her to be happy,” the source continues. “There is still love and respect between the two families.”

J.Lo has reportedly been leaning on ex-husband Marc Anthony following the split. As for how she’s been holding up since, “Jennifer has been doing her best to keep her head up since her split with Alex,” a source tells ET. “She’s been doing self-care practices that balance her mind, body and spirit and has been surrounding herself and talking to loved ones and her kids. She is also, of course, committed to and focused on work. Staying busy and involved in things that make Jennifer feel fulfilled has been good for her.”
