Jennifer Lopez is getting a lot of love from her friends and loved ones – and, yes, including her exes.
In her cover story for InStyle’s May issue, J.Lo ‘s ex-husband Marc Anthony, and ex-fiancé Ben Affleck chatted with the magazine about the 51-year-old superstar – and they were both totally gushing about her.
Ben says he continues to be blown away by J.Lo’s work ethic.
“I don’t know whether people know it or not, but the most impressive thing about her (and that is a long list) was her extraordinary work ethic,” he shares. “She had this humility coupled with the basic assumption that not only did you have to work incredibly hard to succeed, you had to then push yourself even further.”
“I thought I had a good work ethic, but I was completely humbled and blown away by what she was committed to doing day in and day out, the seriousness in which she took her work, the quiet and dedicated way she went about accomplishing her goals, and then how she would go back and redouble her efforts,” Ben says. “She remains, to this day, the hardest-working person I’ve come across in this business. She has great talent, but she has also worked very hard for her success, and I’m so happy for her that she seems, at long last, to be getting the credit she deserves.”
And leave it to Ben to ask the question we’ve all been dying to know: “Where are you keeping the fountain of youth? Why do you look the same as you did in 2003 and it kind of looks like I’m in my 40s…at best?”
J.Lo just laughed off the compliment though, and said, “Ben is funny! He still looks pretty good too.”
Marc Anthony, whom J.Lo was married to for more than a decade – they finalized their divorce in 2014 – and shares twins Max and Emme with, also praised her work ethic.
“She’s the first one in the room and the last to leave. The hardest worker I’ve ever met. When we were together, it was quite the opposite for me. That has changed since. I learned so much from her. She’s the original!”
He also revealed another aspect of J.Lo that he’s amazed by – her foresight.
“The thing about Jennifer is her ability to see and understand things before they happen. Before she even brings an idea up, she has visualized it a thousand times,” he explains. “And if anyone says it might not be the greatest idea, she’ll say, ‘You just don’t see it yet.’ Nine times out of 10, she’ll nail it.”
