Jensen Ackles is sharing some news about his longtime on-screen brother and real-life friend Jared Padalecki.
The 44-year-old Supernatural actor revealed that his co-star of 15 seasons had gotten into a scary situation — but is thankfully doing well,
At Creation Entertainment’s Supernatural official Conventions, which was a fan event held in East Brunswick, New Jersey on Sunday (April 24), Jensen shed some light as to why he was in attendance without Jared. He stated:
“I miss my buddy… [he] sends his love. I spoke with him yesterday. He’s sad he can’t be here.”
Jensen went on to share that he was given the OK by Jared to reveal why Jared could not make it to the event:
“He was in a very bad car accident.
He wasn’t driving. He was in the passenger seat, and he’s lucky to be alive.”
Jensen said that Jared told him the impact from the airbag made him feel like he “went 12 rounds with Tyson,” and added:
“He’s at home recovering, which – the fact that he’s not even in the hospital right now is, like, blowing my mind because I saw the car.
But he is doing OK, and he’s moving around. But yeah, [it was a] really, really bad car accident. Just keep him in your thoughts, send him some love if you get a chance on social and he’ll be back with us soon.”
On Thursday (April 21), Jared took to social media to apologize to fans for not being able to attend the event, though he dd not elaborate at the time as to why.
