Jeremy Renner has just posted his first public message since he was in a terrifying accident a few days ago.

The 51-year-old Hawkeye actor had a terrible weather-related accident involving a snow plow on New Year’s Day near his home in Northern Nevada. He was airlifted to a hospital and it has since been revealed that he had undergone many surgeries and is still in “critical, but stable” condition.

On Monday night, his rep said in a statement:

“We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, January 2nd 2023. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.”

On Tuesday (January 3), Jeremy took to social media to share his first message since the accident. He posted a photo from his hospital bed on Instagram, and captioned it with:

“Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

Meanwhile, more details have emerged on the star’s snow plow accident.

In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon (January 3), Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balam revealed new information on what happened. He confirmed the actor was not impaired at the time, and said:

“Based on our investigation, Mr. Renner’s personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home.

“Mr. Renner went to retrieve his Piston Bully, or Snowcat, an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds in an effort to get his vehicle moving. After successfully towing his vehicle from its stuck location, Mr. Renner got out of his Piston Bully to speak to his family member. At this point, it was observed that the Piston Bully started to roll.

In an effort to stop the rolling Piston Bully, Mr. Renner attempts to get in the driver’s seat of the Piston Bully. Based on our investigation, it is at this point that Mr. Renner is run over by the Piston Bully.”

He also stated:

“At this point in the investigation, we do not believe Mr. Renner was impaired at all and we believe this is a tragic accident.

We don’t suspect any foul play.”
