More details have surfaced about the horrible accident on New Year’s day that left Jeremy Renner hospitalized after he was run over and crushed by his snow plow machine.

A new police report revealed that the 52-year-old Marvel star was plowing when his 14,000-pound Pistenbully snowcat plow machine began to slide suddenly. Jeremy was helping his grown nephew to get his car out of the snow.

When the Pistanbully started to slide towards his nephew, Jeremy then hopped out to try and save him from being hit by the snow plow.

When he hopped out of the snow plow, he was not able to set the emergency break. This is how he ended up being crushed by the Pistenbully.

The police report stated:

“The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake.

Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward. When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over.”

The report also noted that the brake indicator light in the vehicle was not functioning properly, which may have contributed to the incident:

“Mechanical issues may have been a factor in this accident.”

Fans are now lauding Jeremy for being a real-life superhero.
