The wait is over—JISOO has officially stepped into her solo era with the release of her debut mini-album, AMORTAGE! The BLACKPINK singer and actress unveiled the highly anticipated project on February 14, alongside a visually stunning music video for the lead single, “Earthquake.”
“My debut mini-album AMORTAGE is finally here! It is a collection of stories about love – the highs, the lows, and everything in between,” JISOO shared in a heartfelt statement. “I poured my heart into this project and I’m so excited to share it with you all. Thank you, BLINKS, for your endless love and support. This one’s for you!”
Directed by Christian Breslauer, the “Earthquake” music video is a cinematic masterpiece. Breslauer, known for working with artists like Ariana Grande on “Yes, And?” and “The Boy Is Mine,” brings JISOO’s vision to life with striking visuals and an emotional narrative.
The title AMORTAGE blends “amor” (the Spanish word for love) and “montage,” symbolising the different emotional stages of a relationship. The mini-album features four tracks—two in English and two blending Korean and English—giving fans a mix of soulful ballads and upbeat anthems.
JISOO’s solo debut comes as her BLACKPINK bandmates also explore their own individual projects. ROSÉ released her solo album in December, LISA’s solo LP is set to arrive at the end of February, and JENNIE is preparing for her own release in March.
With AMORTAGE finally out, JISOO is proving she’s not just a K-pop powerhouse—she’s a solo star in her own right.
