Joe Jonas, the 34-year-old musician from the Jonas Brothers, is opening up about going through a tough time lately. He and his now ex-wife, Sophie Turner, the 27-year-old Game of Thrones actress, have been making headlines with the news of their separation and impending divorce. Joe officially filed for divorce on September 5th after rumors had been circulating about their split.

Naturally, the media and fans have been buzzing with speculation about what led to the end of their marriage, despite the couple releasing a joint statement about their decision to part ways. However, Joe decided to address the ongoing talk about him and Sophie during a Jonas Brothers concert in Los Angeles on September 9th.

While on stage with his brothers, Nick and Kevin, Joe took a moment to share his feelings with the audience, saying, “It’s been a tough week.” It’s clear that he’s been dealing with a lot, and he wanted to set the record straight.

In a straightforward and heartfelt message to his fans, Joe emphasized, “I just wanna say, look, if you don’t hear it from these lips, don’t believe it. Okay? Thank you, everyone, for your love and support. Me and my family love you guys.”

This candid moment was captured by Variety reporter Kathy Stephan, who shared a video of Joe’s speech on social media.

But there’s more to the story. During another recent performance, fans couldn’t help but notice that Joe made a subtle change to the lyrics of the song “Hesitate,” a track he wrote for Sophie. The original lyrics read, “Don’t be scared because I’m on your side,” but in this recent concert, Joe sang, “Don’t be scared because I’m on her side.”

“Hesitate” is from the Jonas Brothers’ 2019 album, “Happiness Begins.” In the Jonas Brothers’ 2020 documentary, “Chasing Happiness,” Joe opened up about how his love for Sophie served as the inspiration for the song, describing it as his vows before he actually wrote his wedding vows. He explained, “It’s my promise to Sophie. For me, it takes me to a whole other universe; I’m seeing her walk down the aisle again every time I close my eyes.”

It’s clear that Joe is going through a challenging time, and he’s been trying to communicate his feelings to his fans. The change in the lyrics of “Hesitate” could be his way of expressing his emotions and acknowledging his support for Sophie, even in the midst of their separation.
