Joey King is reflecting on her past relationship with Jacob Elordi.
Jacob and Joey both star in The Kissing Booth and its second and upcoming third installments. They play onscreen love interests Noah and Elle – and also dated for a year and a half after filming the first Kissing Booth movie. The pair called it quits in 2018.
When Joey went on The Howard Stern show Tuesday (August 11), she dished on dating her co-star.
“I think it’s a good thing we dated in the first place. I learned the most I’ve ever learned in my life from him,” she said.
In another interview, Joey also revealed what it was like to work with her ex again.
“No one’s thinking to themselves, ‘That was easy,’ because it wasn’t,” Joey told Cosmopolitan. “I’m sure people will analyze every movement and every detail. And you know what? Let them. But at the end of the day, I was just thrilled to be Elle Evans again.”
“Elle Evans needs her Noah Flynn, and whatever that means for my personal life, I’ll do anything to make sure the story of my character who I care about so much is complete,” she added.
ICYMI, Joey has recently been sparking dating speculations with another co-star – Taylor Zakhar Perez, who plays the hunky Marco that shakes things up in the sequel The Kissing Booth 2.
Taylor had already spilled the tea on what’s what between him and Joey, telling Access that, no, they’re not dating.
He also addressed speculations on his relationship status with Joey again in another interview.
“We were quarantine buddies so I would see her all the time because we lived five minutes away from each other. We know what our relationship is, we love each other dearly,” he said on Barstool Sports’ Chicks In The Office podcast. “It’s been interesting how everyone has been trying to make something out of it but it’s fine. I mean, hey, I would love to be dating Joey King, she’s dope.”
But when Howard Stern himself asked Joey if she’s up for dating another actor, here’s what she had to say: “No. I couldn’t. I think that it’s awesome to date someone in your field, who gets it, but doing the same exact thing as somebody is tough. It’s really tough.”
That said, she does think Benedict Cumberbatch is uber hot.
