JoJo Siwa is setting the record straight after her very public split from Kath Ebbs—and the rumors surrounding her and Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes.
The 21-year-old appeared on ITV’s This Morning alongside 32-year-old Chris, offering her perspective on the emotional post-show fallout, including allegations that she dumped Kath at the CBB wrap party and moved on with Chris.
“I’ll be honest, that was not a plan,” JoJo began candidly. “That was not an intention, that was not supposed to happen like that.”
According to JoJo, she was under the impression Kath wasn’t coming to the party. “Initially, I was told that the wrap party was something they didn’t want to attend and then about an hour into the wrap party they decided they wanted to. And so I was genuinely just going to have a conversation before and then it just led to another,” she said.
That conversation quickly turned emotional. Kath reportedly asked JoJo if she was happy, and JoJo admitted she wasn’t. “One thing led to another,” she explained, “and that conversation did take place there.”
Inside the CBB house, JoJo said she had time to reflect on things in her life—away from outside noise.
“I was now in my own thoughts away from everyone that I know, away from outside opinions, away from everything,” she shared. “And I sat with myself and from that point on, I really realized things that I was okay with in my life that I should never have been okay with in the first place.”
When asked if she was referring to her relationship with Kath specifically, JoJo confirmed: “That is one of them, but so many things.”
She continued, “I knew as soon as I got out I wanted to fix things in my life and make the changes that I needed to make.”
“You have this experience that’s so exhilarated. It’s 20 days but it feels like it’s four and a half years,” JoJo explained. “And the first thing you want to do when you get out is just exactly what you need to do in your life to make it as good as you can.”
As for the rumors swirling about her connection with Chris, he addressed it directly.
“It’s hard to explain,” Chris said. “It’s just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship. And I think you can have like a soulmate friendship. Having someone in there to go through an experience like that and have someone there every day when you’re emotional when you’re down when you’re happy—that was beautiful.”
JoJo echoed that sentiment, adding: “I don’t know any future of anything. But I’m really grateful for our dynamic that we have and our bond that we have. And whatever life does, life will do.”
While it’s still unclear whether JoJo and Chris are romantically involved or just incredibly close friends, one thing is for sure—JoJo is reclaiming her story, her way.
