Surf’s up for Jonah Hill – and he’s celebrating with some new ink.
On Sunday (August 1), Jonah went on Instagram to share a shirtless photo displaying his new body art – a colorful hand sign that widely connotes “rock on” and also happens to be the ASL sign for “I love you.” It also boasts the words “Body Love” underneath.
Jonah has become a huge fan of surfing as of late and it’s believed that the design may have been inspired by the logo for water sports apparel Body Glove – but altered to share the body positive message.
“BODY LOVE 🤘❤️,” Jonah captioned his post.
The post has since gotten a lot of love from his fans and celeb friends.
His mom, Sharon Feldstein, hopped on the comments with a supportive massage for her son: “I love this and I love you.”
“yessssssssssss,” Zoe Kravitz wrote.
“Look at You 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍😍,” Sharon Stone commented.
It’s unclear when exactly Jonah started getting into surfing, but he certainly hasn’t been shy about sharing his love for the sport with fans on social media. He’s also been spotted riding the waves in Malibu and other surfing hotspots around SoCal.
Back in February, Jonah opened up about his journey on learning to love and accept his body.
Sharing a screenshot of photos of him published by the Daily Mail on IG, he captioned it, “I don’t think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid 30s even in front of family and friends. Probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities weren’t exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by press and interviewers.”
“So the idea that the media tries to play me by stalking me while surfing and printing photos like this and it can’t phase me anymore is dope,” he continued. “I’m 37 and finally love and accept myself. This isn’t a “good for me” post . And it’s definitely not a “feel bad for me post”. It’s for the the kids who don’t take their shirt off at the pool.”
“Have fun. You’re wonderful and awesome and perfect. All my love,” he added.
